About Me

My name is Isabel Nicolau and I am from Mexico City.

My entire life I have felt this need to be out in nature, when I was 24 years old I went hiking in the woods and after 7 hour walk I arrived to a lake so still that made a reflection of all the trees. Everything was so quiet, I put down my backpack took a deep breath and then everything stopped for a moment there was no time, no space, no separation, and as the reflected trees I saw my own reflection in the whole place, in nature. Since then my life changed drastically.

I believe that (for several reasons) we tend to forget that we weren't just born here but rather are absolutely and irrevocably connected to this place. I believe that we have stoped seeing the abundant beauty around us. But I also believe that we all want to remember, that we all want to feel our connection with our Mother Earth again.

It is my purpose and hope as a photographer that through my work, some people will be able to see the enchantress of this world; that some people will recognize themselves within the beauty of this stunning place. 

It is my greatest desire that we all remember what we were never supposed to forget.
